Bingham Rd Structure Fire

At approximately 2330 on Wednesday, May 1, Canterbury FD was dispatched to Bingham Road for reported structure fire. First alarm was initiated at the time of call adding Baltic, Lisbon and Scotland fire departments to the response.
On Canterbury arrival scene size-up was reported as active fire with heavy smoke, all occupants out of the residence. A hose line was stretched and exterior attack was initiated. On arrival of mutual aid companies shortly thereafter a coordinated interior attack was initiated with incident command being turned over to Scotland Deputy Chief Gurnack.
Central Village Fire Department and Plainfield Fire Department were both requested for additional manpower. Mortlake Ambulance was requested to the scene to standby following 1 person being transported to a local hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
The fire was extinguished and overhaul completed. The scene was turned over to the Fire Marshall and the call was cleared at 0130.
